The recent BVE exhibition
at Londons Earls Court saw the successful launch of
4HM Limited.
The new company launched its new SAM64 SDI audio interface
at the exhibition.
Occupying only 1U of rack space, SAM64 provides the interface
between SDI bitstreams up to 3G (2.9Gbps 1080p60) and
AES3 plus MADI digital audio.
Were very pleased to bring the SAM64 to market.
comments 4HM Director, Craig Lovell. The device provides
a reliable and very cost-effective solution to the issues
of interfacing SDI to audio equipment such as routers, consoles,
intercoms and workstations. BVE was essentially our launch-pad,
not just for the product but also the new brand and I feel
we benefited greatly from our presence at the show.
Barry Revels (also company Director) added We were exceptionally
pleased by the feedback we received from visitors to our booth
and are already seeing additional application for this and
our future product developments.
SAM64 de-embeds 16 audio channels from each of the units
four SDI inputs to provide a total of 64 audio channels in
both MADI and AES3 formats. All SDI inputs independently auto-sense
between 3G, HD and SD formats and are provided with re-clocked
loop-through connectivity for connection to down-stream equipment.
With a comprehensive range of synchronising options and switchable
sample rate convertors, SAM64 is designed to reliably and
seamlessly integrate into any broadcast environment where
SDI embedded audio channels (consisting of discrete and/or
Dolby E/D encoded signals) require format conversion.
