DVEO Announces New Products for NAB 2008

April 3, 2008

Source: DVEO

DVEO, the broadcast division of CMI, will introduce a wide variety of innovative new products at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas, April 14-17, at Booth SU4928.

DVEO's brand new, never before seen, products at the NAB Show include:

1. Four Channel HD-SDI PCIe Capture Card for Video Servers and Editing – HD-SDI Master™ Quad/i PCIe
2. MPEG-2 HD Video Transmitter/Receiver – IP Caster™ FD
3. Small Form Factor Digital HDTV Modulator – eYe Catcher™
4. Low Latency H.264 High Definition Encoder/Decoder – InstaView HD™

Four Channel HD-SDI PCIe Capture Card – HD-SDI Master™ Quad/i PCIe

The HD-SDI Master™ Quad/i PCIe is a four channel PCI Express input card. It simultaneously receives four HD-SDI input streams, with a total bitrate of almost 6 Gbps. Thanks to the high bandwidth available with PCI Express, one can now bring in four HD streams simultaneously to a PC workstation. Supported video formats include 1080i, 1080p, and 720p at 60 Hz and 59.94 Hz rates. The HD-SDI Master Quad/i is especially useful for ingesting HD streams to a workstation for storage and editing.

MPEG-2 HD Video Transmitter/Receiver – IP Caster™ FD

An affordable alternative to dedicated satellite links, IP Caster FD is an IP gateway that connects HD digital video equipment to computer networks. It sends and receives both single and multi-program HD MPEG-2 transport streams. It converts HD MPEG-2 transport streams from DVB-ASI to IP in real time, and transmits HD MPEG-2 transport streams over Ethernet-based Internet Protocol (IP) networks and converts them to DVB-ASI. IP Caster FD features Pro-MPEG Code of Practice #3 (CoP3) Forward Error Correction (FEC), for reliable transport of live DVB-ASI video streams.

Small Form Factor Digital HDTV Modulator – eYe Catcher™

The eYe Catcher digital modulator is unique in both size and functionality. The input can be IP, USB, DVB-ASI, SMPTE 310M, or a stored transport stream from hard drive (single or multi program transport streams). The output is IP, USB, QAM, 8VSB, or a stored transport stream. One 8VSB RF channel can have up to one HD and one SD stream or three SD streams, and one QAM channel can have two HD streams. Additional optional output formats include DVB-C, DVB-T/H, DVB-S/S2, ISDB-T, and T-DMB. The compact eYe Catcher is suitable for digital signage, trade shows, STB testing, and laboratory applications.

Low Latency H.264 High Definition Encoder/Decoder – InstaView HD™

DVEO's InstaView HD™ is a real time, 4:2:2, H.264 encoder/decoder system. It delivers HD or SD video and four channel audio across IP networks at bandwidths from 256 kbps to 10 Mbps. It achieves end-to-end latency of less than 70 milliseconds. Most broadcast encoders have latencies above 500 milliseconds. Each encoder includes a built-in decoder for local monitoring. H.264 technology is considerably less expensive to implement than MPEG-2 over IP. The InstaView HD is ideal for IPTV, video conferencing, event broadcasts, electronic news gathering (ENG), and streaming high quality HD content from a location shoot to a studio.

"Our customers' needs are the inspiration for most of our product ideas," said Laszlo Zoltan, Sales Manager for DVEO. "Many of our products start out as a custom solution for one customer and wind up becoming best-sellers. We're excited to be showing these revolutionary products at NAB2008."

DVEO will also showcase their popular line of DVB Master™ transmit/receive cards (available in both PCI and PCIe), their HDMI to HD-SDI converter – the HD Spigot Out™, and their TVB590™ modulator cards for transmitting HD video to multiple monitors.
