August 12, 2008

Source: Advent Communications

Advent Communications is to unveil an enhanced version of its popular 1.5m and 1.8m NewSwift antenna at IBC2008 to support high power C and and Ku-band RF and HD system requirements.

The enhanced NewSwift antenna will have a larger electronics pod that will enable it to accommodate a pair of 400W C or Ku-band TWTAs, either as 1+1 phase combined or 1:1 redundant pairs, or a 1:1 redundant pair of 750W C or Ku-band TWTAs, or a 1:1 redundant pair of outdoor SSPAs. The NewSwift's compact and lightweight design is styled to meet the operational requirements of the antenna and vehicle onto which it will be mounted.

A follow on development for the enhanced 1.5m and 1.8m NewSwift antenna will incorporate a new feedarm and interchangeable multi-band feed cartridge assemblies which will enable the customer to change the antenna operating frequency very quickly.

Five new additions to Advent's highly successful 1U ½ rack width 5000 Series range will be on show at IBC2008 for the first time: the Advent receiver/decoder IRD5000, the Advent SCPC IP modem ADM5000, the Advent Multiplexer router AMR5000, the Advent Protection Switch APS5000 and the Advent System Controller ASC5000. These additions continue the "systemisation" of the 5000 Series product range enabling Advent to offer complete, light weight 1/2 rack width electronic packages for both video and communications applications.

Also on show at IBC2008 will be Advent's highly successful DVE5000 1U ½ rack width encoder/modulator, now with MPEG-4 PT10, H264 SD & HD 4:2:0/4:2:2 encoding, SNMP and Web browser control options.
