Anchor Bay,
provider of video processing systems and video processing
semiconductors, announced the introduction of a new Color
Management System (CMS) for the DVDO iScan Duo. CMS adds precision
color adjustment to DVDOs latest high-performance video
processor and A/V hub, which offers a wide range of image
and system controls and the full complement of Anchor Bay
Video Reference Series (VRS) technologies.

Current iScan Duo owners will be able to download new firmware,
which is available now, at no charge. The suggested retail
price of the processor remains unchanged at $1,299.
The iScan Duo becomes DVDOs first video processor to
feature an extensive Color Management System. Video calibrators
will be able to perform color calibration of displays through
the controls of the processor, free of any limitations or
complications involved with performing calibration by using
the displays controls. In addition to facilitating the
calibration process, the CMS allows integrators to produce
a much higher degree of color accuracy with high-performance
displays than would otherwise be possible.
The iScan Duos CMS allows for setting accurate color
output through precise adjustment of color primaries and white
point using the Color Gamut and Chromaticity control. The
displays grayscale levels can be precisely set over
the full signal range using a new 11-point Grayscale control.
The iScan Duo automatically generates the necessary test pattern
for each control to greatly simplify the calibration process.
Our new Color Management System enables integrators
and calibrators to calibrate color to an extraordinarily high
degree of precision with todays best displays without
having to rely on the displays controls, said
Doug Fealtman, CEO of Anchor Bay. Given the iScan Duos
affordable price, integrators now have an economical tool
that enhances their ability to quickly provide clients with
superior display results.
Current iScan Duo owners may upgrade their units by downloading
the latest firmware from the DVDO website. Once the firmware
file is on a PC or Mac computer, it can be uploaded to the
processor with drag and drop simplicity through a USB to mini-USB
cable. The firmware and instructions can be found at: iScan
Duo Software
Designed with the custom installer in mind, the iScan Duo
provides seamless integration into even the most sophisticated
home theater environment, with 8 HDMI 1.3 inputs and three
HDMI 1.3 outputs.
Two of the HDMI outputs enable the use of two Deep Color displays,
and the third sends an HDMI 1.3 compatible audio only signal
to a separate audio processor or receiver. All video sources,
regardless of resolution, can be scaled up to 1080p. Even
higher resolutions, such as WUXGA (1920x1200), are supported
as well.
In addition to the new Color Management System, the iScan
Duos VRS technologies include:
Precision Deinterlacing; Progressive Re-Processing (PReP);
Precision Video Scaling II; Mosquito Noise Reduction; Fine
Detail Enhancement; Edge Enhancement; Progressive Cadence
Detection; Rightrate Framerate Conversion; Precision A/V Lipsync;
AutoVFR; and Auto CUE-C.
