ANGA Cable Show publishes congress programme Topics: Broadband, HDTV & IPTV

The ANGA Cable Show, Europe’s leading Trade Fair and Congress for Cable, Broadband and Satellite has published its congress programme at www.angacable.com today. The exhibition and congress will take place in Cologne from 4 - 6 May 2010.

The three-day event will be opened by Hans-Joachim Otto (Parliamentary State Secretary, Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology). The following “Strategy Summit” will once again be the floor for the top representatives of the German cable, satellite and DSL network operators.

With Thomas Braun (President ANGA Association of German Cable Operators) as the host of the event and Dr. Adrian v. Hammerstein (Kabel Deutschland), Dr. Herbert Leifker (Unitymedia), Werner Hanf (NetCologne), Dr. Marcus Englert (ProSiebenSat.1), Ferdinand Kayser (SES ASTRA), Martina Rutenbeck (Eutelsat visAvision), Christian P. Illek (Deutsche Telekom), Dr. Andreas Bereczky (ZDF) and Lutz Freitag (GdW), there will be a first-class panel discussion on the future of the TV and broadband markets. The „Strategy Summit“ will be presented by Frank Thomsen (Editor-in-chief, stern.de).

The highlight of the second day of the event will be the “International Broadband Summit“. Under the headline “Cable, Fibre and LTE – Who will win the Broadband Battle?“, top managers of the European broadband industry will discuss the increasing competition between the different broadband technologies. Alcatel-Lucent, the Cable Labs from the USA, Cisco Systems, Kabel Baden-Württemberg, Liberty Global, Motorola and YouSee Denmark will be participants in the discussion.

Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director, ANGA: “For the exhibition of ANGA Cable 2010, there are already binding bookings by more than 350 exhibitors from 30 countries. Furthermore, 95 % of the available floor space is already sold. The range of topics of our accompanying congress programme is wider than ever. The strategy panels will cover broadband and media politics as well as copyright and licensing law for digital TV and IPTV. The latest fibre and headend technologies will be high on the agenda of the technology panels.”

The 9 strategy panels will focus on broadband politics, HDTV, IPTV, analogue switch off, copyright and licensing law, hybrid devices, Pay TV, 3D TV and the role of the housing industry.

Agenda topics of the 10 technology panels will be digital headends, EuroDOCSIS 3.0, HDTV, the migration from HFC to Next Generation Fibre, FTTH, CI Plus, Video over DOCSIS and Triple Play services.

For show and congress four ticket categories are available:

1. The three-day pass for the exhibition, which costs 20.00 Euros
2. The congress ticket for the full congress programme: With 180.00 Euros it allows free entrance to the exhibition and attending all strategy and technology panels.
3. The congress ticket with ANGA Cable Night: For 240.00 Euros this ticket covers three days of congress and exhibition as well as attending the evening event on the first day.
4. The „technology ticket“: Priced at 90.00 Euros this ticket is valid for attending the technology panels and visiting the exhibition.
