Thales Angenieux announced that their Optimo Rouge lenses and a selection of other broadcast and film lenses are now available through The Studio - B&H.

“We’re always looking to provide our customers with the option best suited for their production,” said Danielo Garcia, Production Sales Engineer & Showroom Manager for The Studio - B&H. “Through our partnership with Angenieux, we can now offer a lightweight PL mount production package which covers the full range from 16-80mm as well as the full selection of broadcast lenses.”

The Studio - B&H, a new division of B&H Photo Video Pro Audio, is dedicated to providing solutions for broadcast and digital cinema by offering a complete range of products and services to meet production and post production needs. At their showroom located in midtown Manhattan, customers have the opportunity to test and compare equipment as well as participate in product demonstrations and training opportunities.

“Many of our customers from the film industry were eager to test the Optimo Rouge lenses and now they have a place to come and demo them in our showroom,” said Mr. Garcia. “The same can be said for our broadcast customers since we have both the 26XHD & 19XHD lenses which have been well received.”

Mr. Garcia, a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where he first started using Angenieux lenses, likes to recommend the Optimo Rouge DP Series because they are lightweight, high performance lenses with virtually no breathing or ramping which is normally found in zoom lenses.

He added, “It is extremely difficult to manufacture a zoom lens with practically no breathing and ramping and Angenieux has been able to achieve this feat all the while making it available at an affordable price.”
Engineered to deliver superior functionality and ergonomics, the new Optimo DP

16-42mm Rouge lens features a wide angle position of 16mm (75.4 degrees), a fast aperture of T2.8, calibrated focus marks and no ramping or breathing. In addition, the lightweight (4.2 pounds) PL mount lens features a unique mechanical design for precise zoom and focus. The highly acclaimed Optimo DP 30-80mm lens features a focal length of 30-80mm (2.7X zoom) and delivers the image coverage of full S35 (31.1mm diagonal) in a lightweight and compact design that weighs only 4.2 pounds (1.9 kg).

“Anyone who has ever worked in the industry knows the name of B&H and the quality it stands for,” said Chris Beauparlant, VP, U.S. Sales and Marketing, Thales Angenieux. “We are very excited and pleased about this arrangement with The Studio - B&H and look forward to the future growth of both businesses.”
