ANTON/BAUER FINDS PERFECT BALANCE WITH NEW STASIS FLEX, DEBUTING AT IBC 2008

Building on the success of its widely accepted and innovative Stasis body support system, Anton/Bauer, a brand of The Vitec Group, and the world's premier provider of professional camera batteries, chargers, lighting and other mobile power systems, is introducing its new Stasis Flex at IBC 2008 (Stand 9.C40b).

Redirecting the geometry of a handheld camera by redistributing its weight onto the operator's torso and over the shoulder, the innovative design of Stasis Flex enables a cameraman to shoot in virtually any position, taking the weight off the operator's hand, relieving fatigue and stabilizing shooting.

"Today's handheld cameras have many variables to consider; they differ in size, weight, location of viewfinder and LCD monitor, operating voltage, even in where the center of gravity lies," says Michael Accardi, president of Anton/Bauer. "The Stasis Flex addresses all of these factors and provides the operator with more comfort, which results in improved video." Stasis Flex features a revolutionary, patent-pending adjustable mechanism that provides the operator with complete flexibility – forward/back, in/out, and up/down positions. At a moment's notice, the camera can be repositioned instantly and locked in place at the touch of a lever.

Stasis Flex can be used as a standalone unit, with Anton/Bauer's acclaimed ElipZ® System, or with the industry standard Gold Mount unit, enabling use of the full array of Anton/Bauer Gold Mount batteries to extend runtime and to power additional devices including lights while providing a counterbalance to further stabilize the camera. The Stasis Flex accommodates a number of peripherals, including wireless receivers, hard drives and transmitters.
