API HAS A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

October 8, 2007

Source: API Audio

API, manufacturer of high-end analog processors and audio production consoles, is pleased to announce the creation of a scholarship program designed to foster creativity and excellence for the pro audio industry's next generation of sound engineers.

The scholarship will be available to students enrolled or accepted in the prestigious sound engineering programs at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and New York University. Each year, API will award the API Visionary Scholarship to three students in the amount of $2,000 per student. Details for qualifying and application forms can be found on API's website, http://www.apiaudio.com

Recognizing that the skills learned on a state-of-the-art analog console transfer transparently into the digital realm, whereas the reverse is seldom true, the programs at these three universities have centered many of their
courses, seminars, and independent projects on the API Vision surround sound console. The API Vision consoles' design allows for simultaneous stereo and surround mixing while maintaining its 'all discrete' analog audio signal
path, providing a unique opportunity for students to focus their listening skills on the highest quality of analog audio available.

"So many great engineers have produced so much great music over the years," said Larry Droppa, president of API Audio. "API is honored to be part of this ongoing process, and we're committed to enabling today's young engineering talent to flourish, especially as they gain their education. By encouraging projects and experimentation on analog consoles, we can further the audio process by, not only providing the equipment to the industry but also, providing additional incentive to reach a little further, listen a little more earnestly, and create a little more freely."

Automated Processes, Inc. remains the leader in analog recording gear, with the Vision surround production and Legacy Series recording consoles, the DSM Series rack-mounted mixers, and the classic line of modular signal
processing equipment.
