Argosy, leading international
suppliers of HD broadcast cables and studio infrastructure
products has announced that it will be introducing new ranges
of products at IBC 2007, including the latest version of its
equipment rack, MDUs, camera leads, a changeover switcher
and a array of video accessories. Leading the way in HD transition,
Argosy is best known for its IMAGE range of HD video cables
that is installed in broadcast, transmission and post production
houses around the world.
For the first time at IBC 2007 (stand no.
10.455), Argosy will be displaying the latest additions to
its range including the following:
Argosy Mark IV equipment rack is the latest
evolution of Argosys equipment rack range offering a
greatly increased cable tray capacity. With broadcast equipment
getting smaller this new rack allows more to be accommodated
in individual racks while greatly increasing cabling capacity.
The rack is available with depths of 800mm,
900mm and 1000mm. In the 800mm depth version, a total cable
tray width of 1200mm can be achieved. This allows greater
flexibility during the installation and wiring stages as well
as an even distribution of weight. This additional space also
ensures greater airspace for cooling purposes. The intermediate
mounting profile is adjustable, ensuring additional flexibility,
saving time and reducing installation costs.
The standard rack is supplied by Arogsy
dressed however there is now an increased range
of custom options and accessories which enable
the user to maximise efficiency while reducing overall costs.
Like its predecessor, model Mark III which
is still available from Argosy, the Mark VI equipment rack
is competitively priced and offers robustness, rigidity, high
quality, various finishes and colours, and a complete range
of accessories enabling the user to customise for any specific
application.
At IBC Argosy will also introduce its new
14-way MDU. The main advantages of this unit are its 2 X 20amp
inputs which increases the units power capability up
to 40 amperes. Each of the 14 circuits is fused and it has
two illuminated switches to isolate one or the other inputs.
This unit has been added to the existing popular range which
includes Argosys MDU-12L , MDU-12Ls and MDU-12P 12 way,
sequential and Powercon units. A single input version of the
14-way MDU is also available.
In addition Argosy will introduce its SMPTE
311 Hybrid Camera leads. Argosy is now stocking pre-terminated
fibre/copper hybrid camera cables in various lengths up to
300 metres. Utilising LEMO cable and connectors, the cables
are terminated and tested with the latest LEMO male and female
connectors. The LEMO connection system is proved to be the
de facto standard for studio and stadium installations
as well as outside broadcast applications. Argosy has a large
inventory of these leads as well as a quick turn-around repair
service for field damaged cables.
Also supporting the HD transition is the
ISIS HD-212 2x2 SD/HD/ASI Critical Path Changeover Switcher
which auto-detects the SD, HD, or ASI signal presence on both
its A and B inputs, and transfers
to the offline input upon failure of the primary feed. The
unit is ideal for use in network, transmitter inputs, or satellite
and cable head end operations. It is fully compliant with
all SMPTE and ITU serial digital video signals up to and including
1.4835Gbps. The 1RU rack enclosure can house up to two processor
boards and two power supplies. The optional Ethernet core
processor used for networked monitoring and control is easily
loaded onto the main processor board.
Argosy is the international distributor
for a new range of accessories manufactured by UK company
LEN, the leading specialist in passive signal enhancement.
The new range to be launched at IBC comprises of useful gizmo
accessories, including: Video Hum Eliminator, Video Isolation
Transformer, SDI Splitters, HD-SDI Splitters, SDI Isolation
Transformers - all of which are passive, thus requiring no
outside power source, plus an HD SDI Relay which requires
a 5VDC power source to activate the relay. Small in size and
economical, these units are very useful for studio and OB
applications.
Argosy will also display its most popular
range of IMAGE HD video cables. Surpassing the requirements
of SMPTE 292M, the IMAGE range has been used in international
HD systems for many years and has one of the most enviable
track records in the industry. Engineers and systems designers
have found the Argosy IMAGE range to be the ideal overall
solution for all types of installations whether large
or small. IMAGE cables are designed to maximise operational
bandwidth while offering the lowest possible return and attenuation
loss. With its international reputation for superb quality,
IMAGE combines reliability and durability with consistent
high performance.
