March 31, 2009

Source: AXON

AXON announces that it will be present at this year NAB with its AXON Cortex monitoring & control software. AXON can be found at the stand SU11410.

In modern broadcasting, the multi-platform delivery and multi-purpose repackaging of materials demand that you master a diversity of workflows.

AXON’s Cortex software application makes the implementation of multiple video and audio signal paths easier, more efficient and cost-effective than ever. Cortex provides comprehensive tools to configure, monitor and maintain not only the complete range of Synapse products, but also a wide variety of other devices. The result is that you, and limitless numbers of
users, can take total control over multiple and complex routines.

Ultimately, you can make your work flow how you want it to flow. It can also optionally control and monitor 3rd party devices using either router or SNMP protocols. The new features introduced at NAB allow you to build and configure your own interfaces, customized to suit your specific applications. Sample applications will be show at the exhibition.

“We has complemented our successful Synapse product range with AXON Cortex – a well-engineered configuration, monitoring and control software system, says Peter Schut AXON’s CTO. “AXON Cortex harnesses the experience gained from the original Synapse set-up program as well as close liaison with customers. A product that is scalable for the ever-increasing requirements we are asked to fulfil"

New features are:

- AXON Cortex-PV: The Cortex Panel View option gives the ability of designing and displaying customised interfaces for any device controlled and monitored from within Cortex.

- AXON Cortex-RC: This option extends Cortex PV by allowing 3rd party router devices to be controlled and monitored using native routing protocols. The status of a routing device is shown in the device view and can be
controlled using the uploaded mnemonics from the router if supported.

- AXON Cortex-SP: This option allows any device supporting an SNMP interface to be controlled and monitored within Cortex.
