Barco Introduces 30-inch LCD Display for High-Density Video Monitoring

September 10, 2007

Source: Barco

Barco, a leader in display and visualization solutions for selected professional markets, has extended its LC series of high-resolution LCD displays with a new 30-inch member. The LC-3001 display offers crisp, clear and color-accurate images in a WQXGA resolution (2560x1600 pixels) and has been designed for high-density video monitoring in a wide scope of professional applications, including broadcast monitoring, personal wall applications for process control and telecom Network Operations Centers, and traffic and surveillance monitoring.

Equipped with the latest LCD technology, the LC-3001 provides excellent sharpness and brightness, along with a very wide viewing angle. The display has integrated Backlight Optical Stabilization (BLOS) technology to ensure that the light output remains stable at all times. Disturbing reflections are kept to an absolute minimum thanks to a special high-quality, non-reflective optical filter. Using Barco’s calibration sensor and software, the display can be calibrated to an absolute color temperature, gamma and brightness target. The dedicated sensor and software also conserve an excellent gray scale, which makes this product stand out in its class.

Barco's LC-3001 on show at IBC 2007, 7 – 11 September 2007, RAI Convention Centre, Amsterdam

Barco will be showcasing the LC-3001 at this year’s IBC exhibition, from 7 to 11 September 2007, at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam, at booth #1.235. Barco will demonstrate that the LC-3001 is ideal for use in broadcast applications, which usually require high pixel density, color fidelity and low latency. The LC-3001’s color calibration possibilities allow uncompromised broadcast video quality and the display is designed without a scaling engine or frame buffers, so the signal is displayed with minimum latency.

Barco's LC-3001 display will be available for sales in Q1 2008.
