Barco Brings Interactive Touch-screen Technology to Studio Backdrop Applications

November 20, 2007

Source: Barco

Barco, a leader in professional display and visualization solutions, announces the availability of its OVTS-70 70” SMART DViTTM technology Display Wall Touch System, an ideal solution for interactive backdrop applications in news, sports and entertainment studios and network operations rooms.

The new system integrates SMART Technologies’ DViT (Digital Vision Touch) technology, enabling broadcast presenters to access and manipulate data across a large screen area. The system uses two digital cameras with CMOS image sensors located on the corners of the video wall and sophisticated recognition algorithms to determine the exact position of the user’s fingertip to make a clear distinction between single clicking, double clicking and drag and drop functions.

The system runs with Barco’s high-bright 70” OV-D2 rear-projection video wall displays for backdrop applications. The high-bright edition of the OV-D2 series has been designed to deal with specific light conditions in studio environments, and features Sense6 active sensor technology, built-in inter-cube video scaling, dual-lamp redundancy and an optional 3200K filter for studio lighting with tungsten lamps. The Display Wall Touch System can be configured to 70”-based display wall set-ups of 1x1, 1x2, 2x1 and 2x2 cubes.
