Bitcentral Bundles RocketStream Data Acceleration with its AirNow! Portable Video Journalism Package

Bitcentral, Inc., a leading provider of digital media content management and distribution solutions to the broadcast industry, and RocketStream, Inc., a subsidiary of Voyant International Corporation and a developer of technologies and solutions to accelerate digital content delivery over IP networks, today announced that Bitcentral has bundled RocketStream's powerful data acceleration capabilities with its AirNow! portable video journalism package.

The two companies also announced a partnership that will enable Bitcentral's television-broadcast-industry customers to purchase the RocketStream Internet data acceleration suite directly from Bitcentral.

Bitcentral's AirNow! video journalism package provides journalists in the field with a compact, full-service video reporting kit, complete with video encoder/decoder, batteries, charger, and cellular transmission capability in a rugged, compact case. Because transmission from the field to the studio often involves IP networks with significant network latency, these transmissions sometimes suffer degradation in their throughput rate, bogging down the rate at which media content can be transmitted. Now, RocketStream's data transfer acceleration software enables journalists to seamlessly transmit their news footage without suffering the degradation in throughput caused by such latency.

By incorporating the RocketStream file acceleration software, AirNow! users can make the most use of the data pipes available to them, providing their viewers with more immediate news coverage and operating in a far more efficient work environment.

RocketStream is also available as a stand-alone solution for accelerated transmission of data over IP networks. By employing the proprietary RocketStream Protocols, this all-software solution can transmit files up to 200 times faster than traditional file transfer protocol (FTP), yet still ensures uncorrupted transmission of all data through rigorous inspection and re-transmission (if necessary) of all received data. RocketStream is fast, secure, reliable, and easy to use, with almost no user training necessary. Bitcentral will provide even more value to its broadcast-industry customers by directly selling the RocketStream suite.
