IBC 2008 - Blue Order Solutions AG upgrades Media
Archive with new functionality
August 14, 2008
Source: Blue Order

Blue Order Solutions
AG will showcase its range of solutions for broadcast and
production environments at IBC 2008.
Archiving, Collaborative working, Configurability,
Tracking of Content Genealogy and Integrability will be just
some of the key elements that will be demonstrated during
the show on the Blue Order booth (3.C40).
Media Archive, Blue Order's highly scalable and extensible
Enterprise Media Asset Management platform, makes access to
content quick and easy, automates workflows and enables content
users to reuse, repurpose and resell their content more efficiently.
As probably the only MAM solution on the market to do so,
Media Archive employs a truly services-oriented architecture
(SOA) for MAM, facilitating easy scalability, zero downtime
maintenance and easiness of the integration of and the collaboration
with third party systems and applications. Through this open
architecture Media Archive allows for integrated and consistent
workflows throughout the production process chain, transforming
production silos into a fully integrated enterprise wide production
platform.
About Media Archive 3.3
At IBC 2008 Blue Order will demonstrate the latest release
of its Media Archive MAM system with the following user benefits:
Media Genealogy -- Media Archive
is today the only MAM system that can track a media object's
history throughout the production process. Media Archive's
Content Genealogy allows you to reference to or copy all metadata,
global and timecode based, including rights information from
the source assets to the newly generated asset.
Media Retrieval -- Media Archive's
new Essence Search speeds up your retrieval process. Users
are now enabled to search for material with specific essence
information (e.g. HD material only or specific aspect ratio).
It also adds document management capabilities so that you
can search for text in the essences. This allows you for example
to attach script files in .txt, .doc, or .pdf formats and
search assets depending on the text of the attached script
file.
User Profiles -- Individual user
settings can now be stored. As soon as your users log into
the systems their individual settings will automatically be
restored. This facilitates the daily work and helps you use
your time more efficiently.
Language support -- Media Archive
supports you working in a globalized media environment. Its
multi-language support, derived from Unicode usage throughout
the system, provides your users with interfaces in their specific
language. Media Archive even supports multiple languages on
the same system. At IBC Blue Order will showcase various examples
for the support of foreign languages.
P2 Integration -- Media Archive now
enhances the integration portfolio on the recording devices
side by adding the integration with Panasonic P2. Events recorded
on P2 can now be easily imported into Media Archive, either
the entire recording or just selectively. Immediately after
being imported the content can be searched, browsed and edited.
"Media Archive 3.3 delivers
the next level of optimized tapeless workflows", says
Dr Peter Thomas, CTO, Blue Order Solutions AG. "This
new release is the result of intensive development and collaboration
with our customers and technology partners in order to optimize
the tracking of metadata and rights information across the
production workflow and facilitate content distribution across
various delivery platforms".
