BTX Technologies,
Inc., is introducing an addition to the MaxBlox family of
connectors, the CA-MX35. Requiring a standard, half-inch D-style
punch, the new stereo audio connector eliminates the need
for soldering and fits into panels up to one-quarter inch
thick.
Optimized for use in computer audio, A/V, home theater, broadcast,
and data system applications, the CA-MX35 is a 3.5-mm stereo
mini female-to-terminal block connector with nut/washer-to-rear
mount in a plate or panel. Clearly labeled terminal blocks
on the back of the new connector take the place of solder
tabs, allowing installers to terminate it with a screwdriver.
The connector fits in a standard half-inch D-style punch,
eliminating the need for custom-made plates or panels to house
it.
"BTX is always looking to create solutions that make
the life of the installer a little easier," said Mark
Chernoff, director of marketing for BTX. "Currently,
solder-style stereo mini connectors are what installers have
to work with. And because a 3.5-mm connector is so small,
this soldering has always been a very tedious task. By eliminating
the need for soldering, the CA-MX35 can be attached and detached
more quickly, which saves time and money. Because the connector
fits in a half-inch D-style punch, it provides even more savings."
The CA-MX35 will be available to installers Fall, 2007.
