Cal Media Engineering was founded in 2004 by two engineers with extensive experience designing hardware and software for the broadcast, production, and feature film industries. Their products have been utlized by major film studios, major television networks, and broadcasters. Recently they have announced their partnership with Ross Video Ltd. to support the openGear platform. Their premier product line, the \"5000\" series of openGear cards, promises to take the openGear platform to new levels of functionality with respect to real-time control over HD video and audio utilizing the JAVA-based openGear Dashboard software interface. They also provide OEM design services and standalone equipment.
