Vibrant New DAM Event
Debuts at Universal City, Heads to New York
On February 17th and 18th Createasphere
debuted a Digital Asset Management Conference and Exposition
(DAM) focused on this rapidly growing industry segment. DAM
is increasingly important as managing, manipulating and monetizing
the onslaught of content; social media content to major motion
pictures and library content, is on almost every content owners
agenda.

Running alongside the well known Createasphere Entertainment
Technology Expo (formerly HD EXPO) at the Universal Hilton
in Universal City, California, the DAM Conference brought
some of the top technology leaders and innovators together
to share information and presentations that have far-reaching
impact on the DAM universe. Shaping the standards and exploring
the urgent global issues of DAM in the entertainment and media
sector, the expo presented a full compliment of quality education
aimed at experts, novices and managers.
Conference topics were designed for different levels of expertise
and need of attendees. Createaspheres DAM offered roundtable
discussions, keynotes and sessions focusing on key DAM topics.
A Keynote - Studio Panel, featuring speakers from Universal
(Stan Scoggins), Fox Filmed Entertainment (Scott Phelan),
Warner Bros. (Tim Padilla), and Showtime (Paul Nicholson),
launched the conference on Wednesday.
Other presenters included Ben Huh (Cheezburger
Network), Roger Howard (Blizzard Entertainment), dpBestFlows
Peter Krogh, Aaron Holm from Industrial Color and Dan McGraw,
Seven Dials Media among many others.
Mary Yurkovic, Manager of The DAM Createasphere Conference
and Exhibition, noted, We were honored to have some
of the most insightful, experienced DAM leaders with us for
the launch of this event. The companies that joined us and
the speakers that presented are those that are leading the
way in DAM. As DAM becomes increasingly important to the media
and entertainment industries, this conference is poised to
present opportunity, education, and information at a level
that is critical to the disciplines evolution.
The DAM Conference featured an exhibition area which allowed
attendees the opportunity to see the most innovative companies
and products in the digital asset management sector.
Kristin Petrovich-Kennedy, President of Createasphere, commented
that, We built a conference aimed squarely at media
and entertainment companies; which have not been directly
targeted in the past. We believe that there is a thirst for
quality information on this topic from entertainment companies,
individuals who seek career enhancing training, and technology
experts and companies who serve the DAM community. We look
forward to presenting the next event in New York in the Fall.
Plans were unveiled for the next Createasphere DAM Conference
for New York, on September 22nd & 23rd, at the New Yorker
Hotel. For further information about Createasphere and Createaspheres
