Dalet Digital Media Systems today announced that the national broadcaster Russian Television and Radio (RTR) has selected Dalet Enterprise Edition to digitalize news
production and archiving workflows for its Moscow based headquarters, as well as for its 86 regional stations. RTR (which is also known as VGTRK) is Russia’s largest state run television organization offering news, sports, entertainment and culture type programming.

This massive Dalet Enterprise Edition installation will seed some 2500 seats offering RTR a comprehensive media asset management solution with integrated broadcast production capabilities to optimize as well as standardize news production, playout and archiving across the large
number of RTR television stations.

“We spent a considerable amount of time researching solutions for this critical transition to an all digital system. Given the size and geographic span of our facilities, our needs were a bit more complex than just looking at systems that incorporated next-generation technology. We needed a system that could offer a complete broadcast
environment and allow us to standardize the sharing of media and elevate the collaboration between locations,” comments Mr. Aleksey Malinin, Deputy General Director, RTR.

“Dalet offered an open system that would integrate our expansive operation to maximize inter-station communications and sharing while incorporating innovative technologies that ensured our future expansion and scalability. Further, Dalet has a successful track record here in Russia with our sister company Radio Rassiya; solidifying their abilities to deliver on the technology promise.”

"We are extremely proud and honored that RTR has selected our enterprise platform for the digitalization of their entire news operations,” says Mr. Stephane Schlayen, Chief Operating Officer, Dalet. “Over the past two years we have worked closely with a number of Russian broadcasters to deploy news production and asset management systems. Being selected to bring this same technology to the prestigious RTR showcases the maturity and wide adoption of our applications among the Russian broadcast community. It also demonstrates the importance of the Dalet open architecture and our
proven experience in successfully deploying large-scale MAM and news systems."

The all-digital Dalet Enterprise Edition workflow integrates broadcast workgroups - ingest, newsroom computer system, desktop editing, playout control and archiving – constructing a shared environment where media assets, packages and programs are readily available to users within a rules-driven architecture. The collaborative
environment is designed on an open, Services Oriented Architecture (SOA) compliant architecture that facilitates integration of third-party systems, as well as future expansions.

Dalet has become a leading provider of news production and asset management applications in Russia. Recent clients include: ORT, NTV, Rassiya Al-Yaum, Russia Today, Center TV, Radio Rassiya and Radio Mayak.
