Digi-Data debuts its Archive Management System to the Broadcast Industry

April 11, 2008

Source: Digi-Data

This year at NAB, Digi-Data Corporation is demonstrating the AMS – Archive Management System, a Continuum technology offering that provides general purpose archive solutions with single mount-point simplicity.

Using intelligent, automated data movement between tiers of storage and Disk Power Management, this system minimizes energy costs while delivering the right combination of price, availability, and access characteristics. HOW IT WORKS: As the AMS fills with data, the intuitive data management software scans and processes fresh data for archiving. Once the file is processed, a small, 400B stub file or data bookmark remains and the file space is automatically reclaimed and made available for new data.

Using a 256-bit key AES encryption, AMS securely transfers encrypted content to deep archive for data protection. Only an authorized AMS user has the encryption key.

AMS Combines a fully managed nearline archive using open access and recording formats to archive, store, encrypt and replicate data, AMS provides users of any size organization with secure, scalable storage for their long-term preservation requirements.
