Electrosonic, an established leader in image
networking, will demonstrate the ES7100 encoder for 3G-SDI
and
HD-SDI streaming over IP networks at IBC booth 3.B19.

The ES7100 provides an unmatched combination of bit rate efficiency,
low latency and high image quality. The ES7100 is ideal for
image quality critical applications in broadcast contribution,
studio to studio exchange, live event coverage and interactive
broadcasts. The ES7100 features 10bit 4:2:2 encoding and video
compression from 6 to 150Mbs.
The ES7100 utilizes Electrosonics PURE3 compression
codec that exceeds many of the performance characteristics
of MPEG and JPEG2000 encoders. PURE3 is designed specifically
for network transmission and provides exceptional resilience
to network errors without the need for forward error correction
and provides a constant latency of only 70ms end to end. Image
fidelity is further protected by PURE3s constant image
quality through multiple generations.
The ES7100 can be upgraded from SDI to HD-SDI to 3G-SDI as
your contribution requirements grow. All popular HD formats
are supported including 720p, 1080i and 1080p. The ES7100
can be set on-the-fly for encode or decode operation and provides
extensive bit rate management
including CBR and PBR bandwidth monitoring for unsurpassed
network performance. Its light, portable chassis and low power
consumption are ideal for mobile applications.
In addition to the ES7100, Electrosonics IBC booth staff
will demonstrate Electrosonics VISIONetwork video &
graphics distribution over IP networks with virtual switching.
This remarkable new technology replaces RGB and video matrix
switchers with a single easy- to-use, expandable solution.
Electrosonics line of HD video players will also be
on display at IBC. The ES9600 two channel JPEG2000 video player
provides up to 2k resolution playback at 250Mbs and 4:4:4
color space. The ES9600 utilizes the same image playback technology
as Digital Cinema to provide stunning images on large projection
screens and displays.
