Envivio Shortlisted for Two IPTV World Series Awards for Best
IPTV and Mobile TV Technologies

Envivio Inc., the leading technology provider
of IP video convergence encoding solutions from mobile to
HD, today announced that it has been shortlisted for two prestigious
IPTV World Series Best Technology Awards for its mobile TV
and IPTV products. Envivio will display its solutions for
the Three Screens of consumer video, based around the shortlisted
4Caster M2™ and 4Caster C4™ encoders, at the IPTV
World Forum at Olympia, London from March 12 – 14, 2008.
Solutions for mobile TV, Internet TV and IPTV will be demonstrated
on Stand 183.
The Envivio 4Caster M2 mobile TV encoder has been shortlisted
in the Best Mobile TV Technology category. Equipped to support
both mobile broadcast and mobile streaming applications, the
M2 encoder is currently powering over 50 DVB-H trials and
deployments around the world, as well as numerous Tier 1 3GPP
services such as Orange World TV in France. In recognition
of the important role this product is playing in enabling
the global roll out high quality mobile TV services, it has
already received best technology awards from Cable and Wireless
International (2007) and Frost & Sullivan (2006).
The Envivio 4Caster C4 multi-profile encoder has been shortlisted
in the Best IPTV Headend and Video Processing Technology category.
Currently targeting both IPTV and Internet TV with additional
applications to be included shortly, the innovative C4 is
a high-availability hardware platform with an embedded software
encoding core. This unique compression architecture offers
levels of service flexibility and encoding performance upgradeability
not possible with traditional hardware-only encoding platforms.
Encoding performance can be upgraded with each software release
without the need to buy and install new hardware, and new
services and features can be added in the same way.
4Caster M2
4Caster M2 supports all of the advanced encoding features
required to enable truly stunning video delivery for both
mobile broadcast and mobile streaming applications. Powering
the majority of deployments and trials around the world, M2
supports key DVB-H features such as statistical rate control
and ISMA encryption. Delivering up to eight output profiles
per channel, and supporting advanced features such as network
aware rate control and bit stream switching, M2 can deliver
the very highest quality of experience to end users on 3G
mobile TV networks.
4Caster C4
4Caster C4 is the multi-service compression engine at the
heart of Envivio's Convergence Generation All-IP video headend.
The 4Caster C4 currently supports multiple channels of standard
definition encoding for IPTV, with optional support for Picture
in Picture, and Internet TV encoding up to VGA resolution.
For IPTV applications, C4 can be delivered in either Premium
Compression or Extreme Compression encoding configurations
using Envivio's new flexible encoding core. For Internet TV
applications, C4 can deliver content for playback in Windows
Media Player, QuickTime and VLC.
