Source: EVS

EVS has announced that the EVS world team will be at IBC Amsterdam (Sept 12-16th) to present the best tapeless solutions for sports, studios and TV news production. A range of new products and upgrades will be presented to the broadcast technology market exclusively at IBC.

EVS has evolved its product line to increase productivity across the entire broadcast workflow. Native support for popular HD codecs and advanced networking capabilities allow broadcasters to move media wherever it needs to go. EVS will show the following new features for networking at IBC08:

New XNet[2] dual SDTI and Gigabit media sharing network – A new hybrid network system offering the perfect combination of reliability and speed for media exchange in any live and near-live production workflows. With its unique media transfer (native and non-native formats) and streaming capabilities to craft editors, new XNet[2] Gigabit brings post production even closer to live.

XT[2] native support of post production HD codecs
– For the first time in Europe, EVS' XT[2] will be presented as the only production server to natively support both of the most popular HD codecs - Avid DNxHD (SMPTE VC-3 compliant) and new Apple ProRes 422 codecs.

EVS Media Importer –- New easy plug-in option directly integrated in your Final Cut Pro interface allows you to search for clips and media available on the EVS XT[2] server and import them in a flash onto the timeline editor.

Visitors at IBC will also be able to see, for the first time in Europe, the latest version of the IPDirector suite. This new generation of IPDirector offers a 360° production management concept that adapts easily to any production workflow requirements. Amongst the multiple new solutions presented at IBC, IPDirector.5 features the following evolutions:

IPEdit – The first true live timeline editor for real-time rough cut editing. IPEdit delivers unsurpassed real-time editing functions for the most demanding speed-to-air workflows with no rendering required.

IPMediaViewer – A new advanced browsing interface allowing access to online and nearline media available across the XNet[2] Gigabit network. This new module of IPDirector offers new proxy browsing capabilities to match large workflow requirements.Download Hires Picture
