New Matrix Switchers from Gefen Also Extend HDTV

August 8, 2007

Source: Gefen

Gefen premiers three of its newest matrix switchers at IBC, each one providing a simple method of integrating the various digital video systems in use today.

4x4 HDMI CAT-5 Matrix

A switch/extend combination, this Gefen matrix connects four HDMI sources to four HDMI displays, allowing matrix switching among all eight components. Each HDMI display can be placed up to 60 meters from the matrix using cost-effective category-5 cabling. Ideal for multiple room connections, Gefen’s HDMI CAT-5 Matrix comes with four small receivers that connect each extended display to the matrix and its four HDMI sources.

4x4 DVI KVM Matrix

Designed for use with digital high definition computer systems, this Gefen Matrix provides USB 2.0 support for keyboard/mouse connections on all four video outputs. The rack mountable unit comes equipped with four DVI inputs and four DVI outputs. Each KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) workstation can access any one of the four computers using the IR switch that comes with the unit. Access is granted instantly making this an ideal tool for multi-workstation venues without networking.

4x4 HDTV KVM Matrix

This matrix supports both home entertainment systems as well as computers with full HDCP compliance. Its four DVI inputs can be used to connect set top boxes, HD DVD players and computers equipped with DVI connections. The four DVI inputs and four DVI outputs come with USB 2.0
connections for keyboard/mouse control to be used at the user’s discretion.
