Geo Music Launch with Gorilla Tapeless Broadcast Solutions

Gorilla

solutions, today announced that Fox Channels Italy has chosen
Gorilla as a turnkey solution provider of integrated video
ingest, open technology production, asset management and collaboration,
archiving, and playout for its affiliate National Geographic
Channels Internationals brand new channel Nat
Geo Music launch this October 15th.
The 24-hour channel will be broadcast in Italy on the Sky
Platform to more than 4.2 million subscribers and will feature
top artists from international as well as local repertoires.
Nat Geo Musics major label partners include EMI Arabia,
Warner Music Latin America, Sony/BMG Italy and Universal Italy.
In the backend, a Tapeless broadcast project fuels the ground
workflow, conducted by Fox Channels Italy with Gorilla Technology
Tapeless solution. The project timeline is two months only.
The Gorilla Tapeless solution provides ingest of video feeds,
as well as provides desktop collaboration in open technology
environment with both Apple and Avid NLE production systems.
The Gorilla MAM is also layered on the tapeless workflow and
infrastructure, incorporating with Music Master, the leader
of music-oriented playlist system from German, for playout
video essence pre-view and pre-select on a web-based interface,
before them automated pulled out from EMC CLARiiON archiving
storage to video server. Besides, Gorilla provides two-algorithm
embedded system to analyze program and music video content
and metadata.
At the beginning, we adopted Gorillas chic solution
for production and media asset management. In time we realized
its listed modularized Tapeless solutions and efficient services,
are also necessary to our new channel launch, so we have extended
the project line, said Julio Sobral, Vice President
Operations, Fox Channels Italy. We had our roadmap already
for better production process, asset management and playout
service. As our workflows and channels evolve, we use more
and more of Gorillas potential.
