
Harris and ObjectVideo Provide Advanced
Security at Remote Sites

ObjectVideo®,
the leader in intelligent video, and Harris Corporation (NYSE:
HRS), an international communications and information technology
company, jointly announced that they have entered into an
agreement to create an advanced system that provides added
security and protection at remote sites. The new solution
is designed for customers with mission critical communications
and security needs, including public safety, federal government
agencies, transit authorities, and broadcasters.
Under the agreement, Harris has integrated
the ObjectVideo OnBoard digital signal processing-based
suite of analytics software tools within the video encoding
module of its Intraplex® NetXpress managed IP networking
platform. The Intraplex® NetXpress platform provides
a versatile IP edge solution for the transport of surveillance
video, voice, data, and program audio.
Integrating ObjectVideo OnBoard software
within the NetXpress video encoder expands the systems
capability, providing an additional layer of security monitoring
and protection. ObjectVideos industry leading video
content analysis software intelligently discerns objects of
interest; distinguishes between humans, vehicles, and other
objects; continuously tracks positions for all moving and
stationary targets; and recognizes if objects have been removed
or left behind at the designated site; among other possible
security breaches. When significant changes are detected in
the video, ObjectVideo OnBoard immediately issues alertscomplete
with still images or full-motion videoover the IP network
to security personnel and maintains detailed event logs.
Designed as an embedded solution,
ObjectVideo OnBoard video analytics software works as
a highly efficient core technology within OEM devices to promote
stronger security at customer installations, said Brian
