IABM Design & Innovation Awards Finalists Announced

IABM have today announced the finalists for the IABM Design Awards 2008, to be presented at IBC 08 in Amsterdam. An international panel of independent judges chose the following five finalists:

Omneon – ProCast
High performance content distribution platform that enables files to be moved around the world over any IP network in a matter of minutes.

Phabrix – SxA
Handheld 3G/HD/SD-SDI/AES signal generator, analyser and monitor.

Quantel – Pablo Stereo3D post production technology
Realtime stereoscopic 3D dual stream editing, colour correction and playout software and hardware

TANDBERG Television – iPlex Ultra Compression Transcoder
Part of TANDBERG Television's next-generation AVC platform, the iPlex Ultra Compression Transcoder provides a step change in digital video distribution by combining the broadest choice of density and enhanced features with the industry's leading picture quality/performance.

Thomson – LDK 8300
HD high speed camera.

Roger Stanwell, IABM Chief Executive Officer, said "This year we received the highest number of applications ever and the quality of the entries remains remarkably high, giving the judges a very difficult task."

The final judging will take place at IBC where each of the Finalists will have the opportunity to demonstrate their entry and answer the judge's questions. The winners of the IABM Awards for Excellence and the ultimate accolade, the IABM Peter Wayne Award for Design & Innovation, will be announced at the IABM Awards Reception by the media commentator Ray Snoddy at IBC on Saturday 13th September.
