IneoQuest Technologies, Inc., the
leading global supplier of end-to-end video quality, service
and revenue assurance solutions for cable, satellite and telco
service providers, announced today that its award-winning
IQPinPointTM solution has been enhanced with a new Program
Availability Reporting feature, enabling service providers
to achieve five-nines (99.999%) service availability.
Service providers have always built their networks with the
goal of five-nines network availability, but unlike voice
and data networks, the complex structure of video networks
make this goal a daunting task. As video service providers
are rapidly adapting IP networks to deliver their services,
they are finding it extremely challenging to monitor their
service and individual channel quality at all locations and
at all times. A loss of a single video packet at any location,
at any time can cause impairments such as tiling, pixelization,
freeze frame or black screen. This phenomenon degrades customer
satisfaction which translates to trouble calls to the service
center, resulting in increased operational expenses (OPEX)
and possible customer churn. Video providers continue to search
for best-in-class strategies and tools that will help them
to be proactive with Quality of Servicebefore the subscriber
is affected.
IneoQuest's newly introduced "Program Availability Report,"
aggregates massive amounts of data into a single, five-nines
measurement that gives providers an instant QoS gauge of service
delivery. By enabling five-nine metrics on a per-channel basis,
service providers can fine tune their networks and operations
to achieve total control over the service(s) they are providing,
rather than basing their performance on the number of calls
to its customer service center. This capability allows high-revenue
channels to be tuned to have much tighter tolerances in line
with revenue from premium-content subscribers.
