Interra Systems announces that Comcast Spotlight’s NorthCentral Division has decided to use Baton in its workflow.  The NorthCentral Division serves select markets in ten states: Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Baton is a QC or Automated Content Verification system for file-based SD, HD, and mixed workflows.

Supporting multiple codecs and media containers, Baton ensures quality control of media content before playout.

Baton is highly flexible and can be quickly scaled for large facilities or high volume of content. As a hardware and O/S independent solution, Baton can be easily integrated into any facilities existing infrastructure. Baton's support for parallel processing enables convenient handling of increased verification load.

"As industry standards have shifted to an electronic delivery model, we needed a way to QC the over eight thousand commercials we receive monthly at our Advertising Support Center,"stated Scott Douthitt, Senior Director of Operations for Comcast Spotlight North Central Division.  Interra Baton software allows us to verify the integrity of our clients ads before they air, maintain uniformity across our encoding / QC platform and ensure that we are introducing compatible content into the cable plant, Douthitt added. "Baton has become an integral component in streamlining our workflow."

"We are very pleased to license our Baton software solution to Comcast Spotlight,” said Ashish Basu, Vice President of Sales and Business Development for Interra Systems, Inc.  "We hope it will help the Comcast Spotlight Operations team address its needs for file based QC. Basu added,"This solution is emerging as the preferred tool for ensuring content readiness in file based workflows handling large quantities of content. It is particularly suited for ensuring uniformity across transcoding solutions."
