Livewire Digital, the leading provider of integrated data, voice and video services, today announced the addition of sixteen new broadcasters from across four continents to its customer portfolio, including one of the most successful broadcasters in Europe, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). Broadcasters from Europe, Asia, North America and Africa will be using solutions from Livewire Digital's M-Link range which provides broadcast quality video for comprehensive news gathering from remote and hostile locations via satellite, mobile and IP networks.

These broadcasters will be working with M-Link's Voyager H.264 AVC, Exchange H.264 AVC and IP Reporter H.264 AVC. Livewire's M-Link software solution allows reporters to deliver news media directly from the field to the newsroom. It enables a reporter to go anywhere with a laptop and a satphone and produce a news piece that they can broadcast live or save the footage and forward later. This is all done at minimal cost and often replaces the need for an OB truck, a crew and an expensive uplink.

The new customer acquisitions add to the rapid expansion of Livewire Digital and mark the growing demand for market leading products in the field of remote newsgathering. Livewire Digital provides ongoing support for all of its customers, from installing the broadcast solutions to expert advice on all aspects of using the technology. The support package includes 'technology refresh' ensuring customers have the latest generations of M-Link software, protecting their investment and keeping them ahead of the competition.

Christian Grotnes, Video Editor at NRK comments "Our NRK news and sports staff have a wide range of skill levels, so we were looking for a vendor that offered a simple user interface, good stability and reliability, as well as a support service that solves problems quickly and efficiently. We have tested the Voyager software which is proving to be reliable, efficient and will hopefully solve our needs for live and S&F via the internet. In addition to great software, the team at Livewire consistently demonstrate the ability to adapt to new challenges and technology when necessary."

Tristan Wood, Managing Director at Livewire, added "We have designed our solutions to make it easy for journalists in the field to film and file news stories whatever the conditions. Our growing customer base demonstrates the increased need for high quality solutions that perform when communication links may otherwise be intermittent or unreliable and our continued growth as a company demonstrates our ability, and dedication, to providing this."
