Miranda launches the ultra-quiet
Kaleido-X16, a compact, 3Gbps/HD/SD multi-viewer for small
control rooms and the very largest monitoring installations

Miranda Technologies has launched an ultra-quiet,
1RU multi-viewer, called Kaleido-X16, with 16 video inputs,
two multi-viewer outputs, and an integrated 16x2 router.
"Kaleido-X16 offers the same unmatched picture quality,
extreme layout flexibility, and ease of use as the larger
Kaleido-X processors. With the same core architecture and
software tools, the Kaleido-X16 will look and feel to operators
like any other multi-viewer within the Kaleido-X family. Any
of the video inputs can be displayed, any number of times,
at any size all the way up to full screen, and at different
display resolutions and orientation, without bandwidth limitations",
says Marco Lopez, Senior Vice-President, Monitoring and Control
at Miranda.
Kaleido-X16 can be used with 3Gbps/HD/SD and Analog video.
It provides highly effective 3D Stereoscopic monitoring with
signals that conform to SMPTE-372M or SMPTE-425M Level B.
With its ultra-quiet design, the multi-viewer can be installed
next to the operators in small control rooms and mobile applications,
although it can also be paired with routers to create the
very largest combined multi-viewer and routing systems. Kaleido-X16
offers seamless integration with the NVISION router family,
and third party routers, to allow expansion up to 1152 video
inputs and 144 multi-viewer outputs.
Using Miranda's 'Cluster Concept', multiple multi-viewers
connected to a routing infrastructure can behave like a single
multi-viewer system from an operator's perspective, with full
layout flexibility and a small failure block. The entire system
can offer seamless control of the source assignments via On-screen
Mouse operation or by a router control panel.
The Kaleido-X16 multi-viewer provides advanced internal signal
probing capabilities, including the display of Closed Captioning,
WST (subtitling), XDS and Dolby Metadata. It can also be integrated
with Miranda's XSupervise application for multi-channel, highly
automated signal monitoring and alarm management.
The multi-viewer offers the ease of use which typifies the
Kaleido-X family, with fast layout preparation using XEdit,
intuitive On-screen Mouse control, and a choice of control
panels.
