Miranda Technologies
has been awarded a contract to supply Post-Newsweek Stations
with a centralized news graphics system using its Xmedia Suite
template-based graphic workflow tools.
The Xmedia Suite system will support on-screen news graphics
over multiple platforms, 24/7, for Post-Newsweek Stations'
six affiliates through a centralized graphic hub, namely KPRC
(Houston), WDIV (Detroit), WPLG (Miami), WKMG (Orlando), KSAT
(San Antonio) and WJXT (Jacksonville). Miranda is also Post-Newsweek's
choice for channel branding equipment.
'Miranda's end-to-end solution will provide the station group
with a complete workflow for centralized graphics. The workflow
tools, such as work order management, graphics processing,
central and local storage, asset
management in HD and SD with multiple formats, along with
unique station branding were some of the deciding factors',
said Marcus Williams, Vice-President
of Post-Newsweek Stations and Chief Engineer at WDIV.
Using the Xmedia Suite's MOS-compliant ENPS and iNews plug-in
software, news producers and journalists at Post-Newsweek
Stations will have immediate access to graphical elements
and templates to create lower thirds,
over-the-shoulder graphic images with integrated moving backgrounds,
and full-screen builds with animated highlights, directly
from their newsroom control system desktop.
Graphical elements will be produced and loaded onto a Miranda
Xmedia Server at the system's core, as well as onto backup
satellite servers at each local station. This will allow all
graphical assets to be ingested once, centrally
archived and automatically moved to a range of graphic devices.
