Miranda Technologies announced that CTC,
Russias leading entertainment television network, has
installed its branding, master control and multi-viewer systems
as part of a refurbishment and consolidation of its Moscow-based
facility.
System integrator, Okno-TV, is close to completing the station
renovation, which consolidates three previously separate facilities,
and provides capacity for international feeds in a centralized
operation.
Whats wonderful is that CTC operators can now
be more creative with promos because Mirandas graphics
solution cuts out tedious, time-consuming and repetitive aspects
of the job, says Mikhail Kalanchekaev, Head of Broadcast
IT at Okno TV.
CTC selected Mirandas solutions because of their
reliability and technical transparency. With this more efficient
system, the network has managed to increase its number of
channels, without increasing its man-power.
CTC broadcasts three channels (CTC, Domashny and DTV) across
five different time zones, and also provides two international
feeds. It has installed 18 Miranda Imagestore 750 master control
and channel branding processors, with three Intuition XG branding
co-processors for advanced television graphics. The system
also includes three Kaleido-X multi-viewers for signal monitoring.
CTC will be using the Intuition XGs in combination with the
Imagestore 750s for a wide mix of promos, including lower-third
graphics, animated bugs, coming up next promotions,
and data-driven text.
The Kaleido-X multi-viewers are used for monitoring and engineering
control at CTC. A total of 96 inputs are displayed across
multiple screens throughout the facility, including a number
of 57 TVLogic panels.
Mirandas XEdit software allows CTC operators to quickly
create complex multi-room layouts, and display important items
such as audio levels, dynamic tally information, clocks, as
well as current and imminent event information from the automation
system.
