Harmonic Announces Definitive Agreement to Acquire Scopus
 

Under the terms of the definitive agreement, which has been approved by the Board of Directors of both companies, Harmonic will pay $5.62 in cash for each outstanding share of Scopus, representing an enterprise value of approximately $51 million, net of Scopus' cash and short-term investments.


Panasonic to buy majority of Sanyo for $6.38 billion
 

Panasonic will pay 131 yen ($1.49) per share for the roughly 70% stake held by three financial firms, for a total of 560 billion yen, according to reports by the Nikkei newspaper and Dow Jones Newswires, neither of which identified its sources.

Apple Supports Panasonic AG-HMC150 AVCAM Camcorders
 

Panasonic announced that Apple's new Final Cut Pro version 6.0.5 software now incorporates support for the professional PH recording mode offered in its AG- HMC150 handheld AVCCAM camcorder.

The enhanced PH recording mode is exclusive to the AVCCAM HMC150 and provides exceptional quality 1080 and 720 recording in an AVCHD format at bit rates up to 24Mbps.
