UnitedScreens Media Acquires Klotz Digital
UnitedScreens Media has acquired Klotz Digital.  Dr. Andreas Gruettner has been appointed as the new Klotz Digital CEO.
He is taking over from Thomas Klotz, who has resigned from his position.
 
Solutions from Klotz Digital include stand-alone On-Air Mixing Consoles for Radio and TV Stations to complete solution packages.  
 
Miranda Reports 2009 Financial Results
Fiscal year 2009 sales were $131.8 million compared to $130.0 in 2008 and net income was $5.5 million or 24 cents per fully diluted share, compared to $22.7 million and 92 cents respectively last year.
 
Sales for the year were driven by the NVISION acquisition and stronger International sales, largely offset by lower sales in North American.
Fast Forward Video Announces Portable, All-in-One HD Digital Video Recorder
Fast Forward Video (FFV) has announced the launch of its new HD3 digital video recorder (DVR).
 
HD3 includes an HD monitor in a hard, portable case and harnesses JPEG2000 compression to deliver HD and SD for recording and playback.

Quantel wins framework contract for News Video Editing and Playout
The BBC has awarded Quantel a framework contract as supplier for video editing systems for its news output.
 
The contract, which lasts until 2014 with an option for a further year's extension, is potentially worth in excess of £10 million over the next four years.
 
Quantel has also been awarded a framework contract to supply playout servers over the same period.

Small Station Gets Big Results From Vinten Radamec

Public Television broadcaster KSMQ of Austin, Minnesota, one of the smallest PBS stations in the U.S., installed a Vinten Radamec camera robotic system.

Vinten Radamec delivered a three-component system to the station. An Autocam Multicontroller II Desktop Control unit provides control of both the robotic pan and tilt heads and native lens drives.
TAMUZ announces their new OLED powered quadruple rack monitor
TAMUZ has launched the OCM 404W HD rack monitor, which is equipped with four 4.3" (11 cm) wide screen OLED displays.
 
Each of the four displays in the OCM 404 W HD has a resolution of 480x272 RGB pixels combined with a newly developed interface for analog and digital video signals.

Red Bee Media selects Nevion's Flashlink solutions for Channel 4's content transport
Red Bee Media has selected Nevion, formerly Network/VPG, to supply a range of scaleable video transport and monitoring technology to enable transmission of content for UK broadcaster, Channel 4. 
 
Content from Red Bee Media facilities at Channel 4's Horseferry Road is being transported to its dedicated Broadcast Centre in White City using dedicated diverse redundant optical circuits with the use of Nevion Flashlink fibre transport modules.
Upcoming Event: SAN Solutions Present Storage Seminar
SAN Solutions, in conjunction with Hitachi Data Systems, Quantum, and Kane Consulting, will be hosting a free storage seminar on Wednesday, March 10 in Los Angeles.
 
The day-long event will provide an overview of SAN Solutions' Media Reference Implementations and focus primarily on media production and distribution infrastructures.
 
David Lynch shoots with the Phantom Gold Camera for his upcoming project at Camtec
David Lynch, stopped by Camtec to direct a high speed 1000 FPS segment with the Phantom Gold HD Digital camera system.

DP Danny Hele, Gaffer Reinhart (Ray) Peschke, and PM John Churchill all said they were very impressed with the Phantom's latitude and performance, as well as with Camtec's professional, experienced staff.
