Extron Acquires Products Division of Electrosonic
Extron Electronics announced that it has purchased the Products Engineering and Development Division of Electrosonic Group a worldwide AV systems integration and service provider.

The Electrosonic Group systems integration and service business is not part of the acquisition and will continue forward as a wholly independent organization.

Panasonic Announces Affordable AW-HS50 Sub-Compact HD/SD Switcher with IP Control
Panasonic has announced a new compact addition to its MultiFormat switcher line-up, the IP-capable AW-HS50 HD/SD live switcher.
 
This switcher offers four HD/SD-SDI and one DVI-D inputs, as well as a built-in MultiViewer display.  It also includes a built-in frame-synchronizer for each input, two HD/SD-SDI outputs and one scalable DVI-D output.
Vizrt and Civolution Join Forces to Reduce Video Piracy With Video Watermarking Technology

Vizrt announced that it is integrating Civolution's watermarking solution into its Viz Ardome media asset management software.

Using Civolution's NexGuard - Pre-release application, users will have the ability to deter potential piracy threat or trace the source of unauthorized copies of a video asset.
Flywire Supplies Aerial Camera system for Six Nations Rugby
FlyWire Ltd. were recently approached by SIS, the OB supplier for the BBC to provide a flying camera solution to enhance their live coverage of the England Rugby team's home matches in the RBS 6 Nations Rugby Tournament.
 
Flywire is a supplier and installer of the 'Spidercam' lightweight HD flying camera system.
Eyeheight completes large 'playout' order for Al Jazeera
Eyeheight has completed an order for Al Jazeera Sport in Doha, centred on 11 systems from the 'playout' range of modular presentation control equipment.

The new installation forms part of a server-based ingest, post-production and transmission facility completed in just four months by Dubai-based Qvest Media in partnership with its German sister company Wellen+Noethen.

PESA has introduced the QFX-QUAD30-TXRX Dual Channel Electrical to Optical and Optical to Electrical extenders for 3G-SDI signals.

Using LC transceivers, the QFX-QUAD30-TXRX transports SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, or ASI video standards independently in each direction.
