HME Acquires Clear-Com from the Vitec Group
The Videocom division of The Vitec Group plc announces its acceptance of HME's offer to acquire Clear-Com Communication Systems, its business that provides voice communication systems for broadcast, live performance, military, federal government and professional audio markets.
HME, a privately held company based in Poway, California, is a pioneer of digital wireless intercom solutions for restaurant, hospitality, pro sports and pro audio markets.
Technicolor (formerly Thomson) announces Grass Valley Reorganization Plan
Grass Valley, currently being divested, is not within Technicolor's strategic re-focusing, centered upon services for content creators and distributors.
 
The plan was based upon Grass Valley's reorganization into three distinct activities: broadcast, head-ends and transmission. It would include a 25% reduction in Grass Valley headcount by eliminating 625 jobs worldwide.

Panasonic Solutions Company Launches Operations
The new B2B-focused company will incorporate the operations of Panasonic Computer Solutions Company, Panasonic Broadcast & Television Systems Company and Panasonic Professional Display Company and formally launched operations on April 1, 2010.
Rance Poehler will head the newly consolidated Panasonic Solutions Company as President.

DTS Launches Neural UpMix and DTS-HD Master Audio Suite V2.5
Neural UpMix is a new Pro Tools plug-in designed to upmix content in up to 5.1 and 7.1 channels.
 
DTS-HD Master Audio Suite v 2.5 (MAS 2.5), the latest version of the company's audio encoding suite.
Pamal Broadcasting Chooses SDS Broadcast Management System to Unify its 33 U.S. Radio Stations
Pamal has announced that it has installed SDS's flagship broadcast management software, SDS Symphony, at all 33 of its radio stations, based in New York, Vermont and Florida.
 
The software integrates all of the stations' information, across all departments, in real time.

ARRI Media's New Video Production Bags
The Hollywood based Alan Gordon Enterprises, Inc. is now the exclusive distributor of a new line of production bags and accessories from Arri Media.
 
The varying sizes for the bags allows for storage of a wide range of cameras and camera accessories such as the Red One kit or the Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
QuStream 2009 Financial Results
Revenue for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 was US $1.5 million compared to US $4.1 million in the same period in fiscal 2008, a decrease of 64%. Revenue for the twelve months ended December 31, 2009 was US $10.5 million, down 43% from the US $18.4 million during the same
period last year.
Qustream includes PESA brand and FortelDTV technology.

Avid has filed their annual 10K form with the SEC.
 
Gordon Tubbs Joins Fujinon as Director of Sales
Fujinon announced the appointment of Gordon Tubbs as Director of Sales for the Broadcast Division.
 
In his new role, Tubbs is responsible for all aspects of sales, with an emphasis on Network and Group sales. He will work closely with National Sales Manager Thom Calabro and Special Assistant to the President, John Newton. Fran Fehr, Manager of Key Accounts, will report directly to Tubbs.
Omneon Promotes Manuel Ferreira to VP Sales EMEA
Ferreira's career spans more than 20 years in various roles in the technology industry, and his experience includes technical service/support roles with companies such as Sun Microsystems, MIPS, and SGI.
 
He transitioned into a sales role in 1996 with SGI, taking on responsibility for the company's media market.
