Harmonic Announces Definitive Agreement to Acquire Omneon
Harmonic and Omneon announced the signing of a definitive agreement pursuant to which Harmonic would acquire Omneon for an enterprise value of approximately $274 million in cash and Harmonic stock.
 
For the year ended December 31, 2009, Omneon's revenues were approximately $105 million, of which 67% were outside the United States, with no single customer representing more than 10% of total revenue. Omneon's gross margin was 58% in 2009. Omneon has approximately 280 employees worldwide.
K-Tek Introduces Norbert Camera Accessory Mounting System
K-Tek introduces the Norbert Camera Accessory Mounting System - an accessory management system designed to complement SLR, video-capable DSLR and compact HD video cameras.
 
Norbert allows the working professional to attach a large array of production tools to a DSLR camera without compromising the camera's integral shoe mount. The heart of the system is the Norbert base frame.
Dalet Signs Agreement with BBC for TV News Automation
Dalet Digital Media Systems announced that it has signed a Framework Agreement with the British Broadcasting Corporation to provide TV News Automation systems for Lot 2 of the Video Editing and Playout (VE&P) procurement.
As prime contractor, Dalet, together with its partners Mosart Medialab A.S. and IBM (UK) Ltd, will provide a complete package comprising professional services, studio/gallery automation software, automation system monitoring and all IT hardware required for the automation systems.

Chile's First Digital Television Station Selects Jampro Antenna System
TVN Chile (Television Nacional de Chile) has selected a Jampro antenna system to inaugurate the country's first digital television signal.
 
TVN is a state-owned television station, but operates independently.
 
TVN reaches 98 percent of Chile's population through a network of over 200 repeaters. It also transmits a satellite feed seen around the world. For its new digital signal that will originate from its broadcast center in Santiago, TVN will be using a Jampro model JA-MS UHF broadband slot antenna from the company's Prostar series.

Banister Lake will offer broadcast graphics solutions for the Ross Video XPression Character Generator and Graphics Platform.
Nevion appoints Geir Bryn-Jensen as executive VP of global sales
Before joining Nevion, Geir Bryn-Jensen spent six years as managing director/country manager at CA Norway AS (Computer Associates).
 
Prior to this, he was a manager at Accenture's Media & Entertainment practice in Norway, following six years at Telenor in various business development roles
