General Cable Acquires Gepco International
Gepco, a manufacturer and provider of high-end cabling solutions for the professional broadcast and entertainment markets, reported 2008 revenues of approximately $46 million.
Sencore Intent to Acquire Wegener
Sencore and Wegener announced they have entered into a non-binding letter of intent regarding a possible acquisition of Wegener by Sencore.
 
WEGENER provides tailored and off-the-shelf solutions to reduce the long-term cost, integration and maintenance of broadcast solutions. Sencore provides broadcasters, satellite and cable operators, telcos, retailers, engineers and installers with signal monitoring and analysis, and video/audio distribution equipment.

Calrec to Unveil Small, High-Powered Audio Console at IBC 2009
Calrec Audio has announced it will unveil Artemis, a small audio console at IBC2009.
 
Bluefin2, the next generation of Calrec's trademark Bluefin High Density Signal Processing platform, enables Artemis to provide substantial resources at multiple sample rates. Running at 48 kHz, Bluefin2 gives Artemis up to 640 channel processing paths, 128 program busses, 64 IFB/track outputs, and 32 auxiliaries.

RPC TV Network Chooses Apantac Tahoma Multiviewers
The TAHOMA Multiviewers provide RPC with HD signal monitoring for eight television stations.
 
The Multiviewers combine 3G, SD, HD, analog, digital video and discreet analog and AES audio sources that provide the critical monitoring core for all of RPC's transmissions at their television stations.  The sources are fed onto displays and support HDMI / DVI / VGA outputs at resolutions up to 2048x1080.

Chyron Reports Financial Results Q2-2009 and H1-2009
For the second quarter ended June 30, 2009, revenues were $5.8 million, a decrease of 42% from revenues of $10.0 million in the second quarter of 2008. Operating loss for the quarter was $1.4 million as compared to operating income of $1.2 million for the second quarter of 2008.
 
Michael Wellesley-Wesley, Chyron President and CEO, commented, "Our second quarter results were as we expected and reflect the severity of the global media recession and sharp declines in all categories of TV advertising spending.

Miranda Reports Q2-2009 Financial Results
- Sales of $31.1 million, versus $34.2 million in 2008
- Net income of $1.3 million, compared to $4.1 million last year
- EBITDA of $2.7 million, versus $7.0 million
 
"Delays in customer orders combined with reduced customer demand stemming from the global downturn and tight credit markets continued to weigh on the broadcast equipment industry, including Miranda," said Strath Goodship, Miranda's President and Chief Executive Officer.
