Blackmagic Design announced the purchase of all assets of DaVinci Systems LLC. This purchase means
Blackmagic Design will now offer DaVinci Resolve DI color correction systems and DaVinci Revival film restoration products for sale worldwide.

SeaChange Acquires VOD Company, eventIS
eventIS is a privately owned Eindhoven, Netherlands-based company that provides VOD and linear broadcast software and related services to cable television and telecommunication companies primarily in Europe.
ARRIS Acquires Assets of EG Technology
ARRIS acquired EGT patents and video processing technology for digital networks, and will employ approximately 20-25 of the existing employees.
The products acquired by ARRIS will continue to be marketed under the EGT brand name, and include the following:
-- ARRIS EGT Encore Encoder
-- ARRIS EGT Quartet Encoder
-- ARRIS EGT VIPr Transcoder
-- ARRIS HEMi Edge Encoder
Apantac Previews New 3G Multiviewers with Built-in Routers at IBC
The new TAHOMA-LX Multiviewers have 16 auto-detect HD / SD SDI inputs.
 
By utilizing the built-in router, each of the 16 inputs can be routed to display on any of the Multiviewer outputs.
LYNX Technik yellobriks Enable Broadcast of 2009 IAAF World Championships in Athletics
TopVision (one of Germany's leading TV production companies) used the LYNX Technik yellobrik fiber optic modules to transmit up to 48 HD-SDI signals from their OB Van to the main control room in the IBC, where the signals were fed out to the international audience.
 
The 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics was recently held in Berlin, Germany and were broadcast to over 190 countries.

Products include: new PTZ cameras, seamless switchers and video scalers/converters.
Polecam to introduce nanoFlash ultra-compact solid-state HD/SD video recorder at IBC 2009
nanoFlash is a new addition to the Polecam range of portable video production equipment.
 
Capable of operating in HD or SD direct to dual Compact Flash solid-state cards, it can be attached to a Polecam rig or mounted direct to a camera.
 
It can also be connected to any HD-SDI source via BNC coax.
SMPTE Launches Executive Director Search
The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) announced that it has launched a search for an Executive Director.
 
Former SMPTE Executive Director Kimberly Maki concluded a three-year term of service with the standards organization to take a senior executive position with Bright House Networks.
