Advanced Broadcast Solutions Builds HD Production Control Room, Upgrades Studio for KTRV
Systems integration firm Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS) recently completed the design, integration, and installation of a new HD production control room and studio upgrade for KTRV, the Fox affiliate serving Boise, Idaho.
 
According to Mark Siegel, President of ABS, the biggest challenge was the tight $250,000 budget, which needed to cover design and installation of new HD cameras, production switcher, multi-view monitoring, and digital audio mixer, as well as HVAC and electrical.

HaiVision MAKITO HD H.264 Encoders Chosen for Venue Feeds at 2010 Winter Games
HaiVision Network Video's MAKITO video encoder was selected by Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium to deliver high definition (HD) H.264 program return video feeds for the venues at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games from Feb. 12-28.
Ascent Media and AmberFin join forces to enhance media content workflows
As part of the relationship Ascent has integrated AmberFin's iCR software into its existing content management systems, enabling the company to deliver media content via a range of different formats to film and broadcast companies.
 
As one of the early adopters of iCR, Ascent Media UK uses the solution within its own workflow systems for production encoding and repurposing.

Marquis Establishes Independent Consultancy
Marquis, supplier of consultancy services and broadcast software solutions, has announced major changes to its business structure with the establishment of three separate companies, namely Marquis Consulting LLP, Marquis Broadcast Ltd and Marquis Holdings Ltd.
 
Marquis' consultancy division was set up in 2006 to advise broadcasters looking to make the change to file-based workflows. Since then it has grown significantly to represent approximately 35% of Marquis' revenues.
