FFV has released a firmware upgrade and codec for its line of broadcast-quality digital video recorders (DVRs) that enables direct importing of JPEG2000.mov files into nonlinear editing (NLE) systems such as Final Cut Pro.
Downloading the file is now a simple matter of connecting the DVR to the computer via USB and then dragging and dropping it into a timeline.

| News 8, the 24-hour cable news station in Austin, Texas, has installed a 144-frame UTAH-400 routing switcher and the company's SC-4 control as the basis for a phased-in HD upgrade.
The Utah SC-4 Control System, enables News 8 operators to control and monitor routers, master control, and multiviewers easily, regardless of signal format.
With support from Utah's MX-Lator unit, the SC-4 also controls the station's Venus audio router.
