Ross Video Releases SoftMetal Version 4.2 Software
Ross Video introduces Version 4.2 software for the 1000 and 3000 series SoftMetal Video Servers, available free to all existing SoftMetal customers.

SoftMetal Version 4.2 offers a clip and graphics play out server for use in production or master control applications.

New RGBHV over CAT.5 Extender from TV One
The 1T-CT-421 Transmitter accepts resolutions up to 1280x1024 and is a unity gain device, which requires no adjustments for encoding of the signal.

The included 1T-CT-422 Receiver has Gain and Equalization adjustments to compensate for cable runs up to 590 feet in length.
New Viz Video Hub Version 2.0
Vizrt has introduced Version 2.0 of its Viz Video Hub plug-and-play asset management (MAM) system.
 
New Features include:
- Extended support for archiving through a Tape Robot feature. 
- Integrated with Avid NewsCutter video editing software
 
The software includes capabilities for ingest and playout, transcoding, browsing, and craft editing.

Mobile TV Group Installs Second Grass Valley Kayenne Switcher for HD Mobile Production
Denver-based Mobile Television Group (MTVG) has installed its second Grass Valley Kayenne multi-format Video Production Center, on board its truck, 10HDX.

This truck is designed to simulcast "dual-feed" shows in both standard-definition (480i) and high-definition (720p or 1080i) resolutions.

Chyron Reports Financial Results for Q3-2009
For the third quarter ended September 30, 2009, revenues were $6.4 million, a decrease of 31% from revenues of $9.3 million in the third quarter of 2008. Operating loss for the quarter was $1.1 million as compared to operating income of $0.7 million for the third quarter of 2008.

Net loss for the quarter was $0.8 million, or $0.05 per share, basic and diluted, as compared to net income of $16.7 million, or $1.07 basic and $1.00 diluted earnings per share, for the third quarter of 2008.
Stuart Weisbuch Now At Camtec Motion Picture Camera Rentals
Mr. Kavon Elhami, president of Camtec Motion Picture Camera Rentals in Burbank, CA has announced that Stuart Weisbuch has joined the company's rental / marketing team.
 
Prior to joining Camtec, Stuart served as rental manager for 6 years at 'The Camera House', then transferred into the sales and manufacturing division of 'The House of Power' in North Hollywood, California.
Pebble Beach appoints Alison Pavitt as Marketing Manager
Automation provider, Pebble Beach Systems, announces that Alison Pavitt has recently joined the company as its new Marketing Manager.

Previously Alison was on the senior management team at Aston Broadcast Systems.
