Sony Unveils NXCAM, New AVCHD Professional Camcorder
The first model in this series will be a professional camcorder featuring Sony's ClearVid CMOS Sensor system enhanced by Exmor technology, to deliver full high-definition resolution and low light sensitivity with low noise.

The camcorder will record AVCHD up to 24Mbps, delivering 1920x1080 HD images with both interlace and progressive modes along with native 1080/24P, 720/60p and 50p and MPEG-2 SD recording.
 
The camcorder will include both HD-SDI and HDMI outputs, as well as two-channel linear PCM audio capabilities.
Analog Way launches range of Hi-Res Mixer Seamless Switchers with Tri or Dual Scalers
Analog Way announced the release of a new range of Hi-Res Mixer Seamless Switchers with 6 products featuring Tri or Dual Scalers: Opus, Pulse, SmartVu and their Light Editions. 
 
All HDCP Compliant, these new products offer Universal Analog and Digital input/output and Full High Resolution Digital Processing. They output Digital and Analog Signals in DVI and VGA (RGBHV) simultaneously with a selection of many formats up to Computer 2K. The new line provides high image quality thanks to its true 10 bit SD/HD auto adaptive pixel by pixel 3D motion compensation processing, de-interlacing, auto 3:2 and 2:2 reverse pull down circuitry, processing and Frame follower.

FOR-A to demonstrate VRCAM Sensor-Less Virtual Studio System at Government Video Expo 2009
FOR-A will showcase its VRCAM Sensor-less Virtual Studio System at the upcoming GV Expo.
 
With VRCAM, a virtual studio can be created without any modifications to existing cameras, lenses, tripods or other parts of an established camera system.
MediaCorp Relies on Cobalt Digital for APEC 2009 Transmission
Cobalt Digital teamed up with MediaCorp at the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) 2009 conference in Singapore.

MediaCorp will build the International Broadcast Centre, which will include the operation of broadcast quality cameras, a live video and audio feed distribution system, and master control room.  The audio feed distribution system at APEC is based on SDI embedded audio, and will rely on Cobalt's 9000 series of cards for openGear

Research: A degree of cautious optimism returns to the broadcast and media technology industry
2009 has been a very challenging year for the broadcast and media technology industry but as the global economic situation starts to ease, so suppliers start to regain some confidence in the market going forward.
 
This is one of the findings of the industry trends survey undertaken by Ernst & Young LLP in association with IABM, who represent broadcast and media technology suppliers worldwide.

Avid Announces Financial Results for Q3-09
Avid reported revenues of $152.1 million for the three-month period ended September 30, 2009, compared to $217.1 million for the same period in 2008.
 
The GAAP net loss for the quarter was $17.2 million, or $0.46 per share, compared to a GAAP net loss of $66.4 million, or $1.80 per share, in the third quarter of 2008.
Klein + Hummel to be integrated into Sennheiser and Neumann
Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG will integrate its subsidiary K + H Vertriebs- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, manufacturer of studio monitors and installed sound products, into the Sennheiser and Neumann companies.
Bexel Appoints Helen Carr ASG Pro Audio Sales Manager
Bexel, a unit of Vitec Group Systems Division, announced the appointment of Helen Carr to the post of Bexel ASG Pro Audio Sales Manager.

Carr, a 20-year broadcast veteran, joined Bexel in 2003 following a successful career in broadcast equipment sales for technology companies Quantel and Snell & Wilcox. She also has experience in the systems integration field.
