PESA, a major provider of broadcast and
Pro AV distribution and router transport solutions unveiled
their new Jaguar-3 64X64 high definition video router at IBC
2010.

Based on the latest 3G-SDI technology for 1080p and 3D applications,
Jaguar-3's unique frame architecture allows easy adaption
of future switching combinations and signal processing options.
Jaguar-3, the first of many products to be featured in this
frame concept, provides 64X64 high definition video routing
in only 2U of space.
The Jaguar-3 video router offers a full range of features,
including internal control, hot-swappable cards, network-based
control, and optional redundant power and system control -
all the features you expect and priced to fit the most conservative
of budgets for small to mid-sized video switching environments.
PESA's Jaguar-3 switches all SMPTE and ITU standard serial
digital video signals; plus it supports embedded audio and
other ancillary data required for HD-SDI and DVB/ASI broadcast
sources. Jaguar-3 is perfect for SD-SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI
switching applications in digital cinema, telemedicine, high-end
presentation rooms, satellite imaging, command centers, and
simulation/visualization environments.
Although small in size (occupying on 2U space), Jaguar-3 is
big on performance - supporting standard data rates from 270Mbps
up to 3Gbps, and video transports up to 1080p/60. All inputs
are auto-equalized; and with standard SMPTE formatted outputs,
each signal is auto-sensed and re-clocked to the appropriate
transport stream. Signals can be re-clocked up to 80m for
1080p/60.
For non-standard formats, re-clocking circuitry can be set
to by-pass mode. Two independent reference inputs allow easy
selection of gen-lock from a black burst or tri-level sync
source. The compact frame design features front load / hot
swappable card sets and includes space for an optional redundant
power supply and controller module.
Jaguar-3 provides control ports that allow configuring the
frame for a variety of control interfaces including Ethernet
control, PESA's PERC2000 or 3500Pro, and PESA's new Cattrax
graphical user interface for on-screen diagnostics
and frame management; plus it can be used with PESA's full
range of new Ethernet control panels.
"Our new frame architecture for the Jaguar-3 allows 64
inputs and 64 outputs in only 2U space - which is critical
for compact spaces such as OB trucks and small control room
environments," stated Dan Holland, Vice President, Product
Marketing for PESA.
"We are excited about the new Jaguar frame concept, since
it allows us the flexibility to offer a wider range of connectivity.
The Jaguar-3 64X64 coax version is the first of many new product
connectivity solutions to be introduced in 2011."
