Red One Africa launches Red One Digital Cinema camera rental in South Africa. A joint venture of Oceansense Productions, Sentinel Entertainment and Afterglow 4K.

Red One Africa, a joint venture of Sentinel Entertainment, Oceansense Productions and Afterglow 4K are offering the much talked about but little known 'Red One' digital cinema camera for rental for the first time in South Africa.

Red One Africa's services include Red camera rental, full Red One production and a complete post workflow from transcoding and transfers to offline editing and uncompressed digital intermediate, grading and finishing from SD to HD for broadcast as well as 2K and 4K for film-out.

The controversial Red One Digital Cinema camera introduces a completely new production format capturing a 4K (4096 x 2304) image in 12-bit colour on a super 35mm negative sized CMOS sensor, this is over four times the resolution of full raster HD. The large sensor size and industry standard PL lens mount accommodates a vast array of spherical and anamorphic 35mm cine lenses as well as Nikon and Canon stills lenses. The camera features a standard 19mm studio rod setup and is compatible with cine matte box and follow focus systems.
