Scopus Video Networks 2007 TelcoTV Conference &
Expo Show Preview
October 16, 2007

At the 2007 TelcoTV Conference & Expo
in booth 431, Scopus Video Networks (NASDAQ:SCOP) will be
demonstrating two key solutions enabling the delivery of high-quality
video-over-IP infrastructures: Scopus' new H.264 video compression
platform, as well as an FEC mechanism allowing error resilient
transport of video-over-IP networks. TelcoTV exhibit will
take place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta,
Ga., Oct. 23-25.
The two components of the Scopus demonstration are as follows:
H.264 HD Encoding The Scopus H.264 encoding
platform delivers superb picture quality at low bit rates
to better utilize bandwidth and combine IP and ASI outputs
for maximum usage functionality. The UE-9810, Scopus' new
H.264 HD encoding platform, enables telcos, as well as other
operators, to offer premium HD content while providing integrated,
advanced multiplexing capabilities for flexible and easy creation
of new revenue-generating services.
IP Forward Error Correction As operators deploy
video-over-IP transport across massive networks, either internal
or leased fiber, they are challenged by stream errors that
affect security and service. Scopus' solutions enable secure
and error resilient video transport in a point-to-point or
point-to-multipoint architecture.
The Scopus solution integrates a simple scrambling/descrambling
scheme coupled with a forward error correction, Pro MPEG FEC-based
mechanism to allow the secure and reliable delivery of video-over-IP
networks. Both the scrambling and the FEC mechanisms implemented
by Scopus are interoperable for integration in open systems.
