SeaChange International announced that NewsX is now airing on the SeaChange Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient (BML/MCL) play-to-air platform.

NewsX is the first news operation in India that is ready to transition to high-definition broadcasting. With studios designed by Janson Design Group of New York, graphics by London's Red Bee Media and sets from Shaun Moore, New York, NewsX offers its c-suite audience a global perspective with a viewing experience comparable to the best in global broadcast.

"SeaChange has given us the flexibility to go on air in SD while simultaneously laying the foundation to activate HD transmission as soon as we are ready," said Vynsley Fernandes, COO, INX News. "The BML/MCL platform can be integrated easily with our Incite non-linear editing system and also provides us with added peace of mind, thanks to its RAID Squared reliability."

SeaChange's Broadcast MediaLibrary/MediaClient architecture comprises distinct capabilities that have made it the infrastructure of choice for over 200 broadcasters worldwide, including China Central Television, Mediaset, Globosat and more than 40 PBS affiliates: Broadcast MediaLibrary servers, which cost-efficiently provide fault-resilient storage of any type of Media file; and highly flexible SeaChange MediaClient codecs that easily fit with any device in a broadcast operation's workflow and any video output, from SD and HD play-to-air to broadband streams.

SeaChange's range of proven content storage, streaming and management solutions, including the FML200 flash memory-based ingest and play-to-air server, and its latest Broadcast MediaLibrary/Broadcast MediaClient play-to-air storage system and SD/HD software codecs, will be on display during IBC 2008, September 12-16 in Amsterdam on SeaChange's stand 2.B59. Demonstrations will underscore why broadcasters of all sizes continue to make the BML/MCL their digital video foundation – and how the breakthrough Flash Memory Library can further extend their capabilities.
