SIDSA's DVB technology
solutions attracted both operators and broadcasters' attention
at the IBC show in Amsterdam for their cost-effective and
fast-to-market conception.
Its POLAR PLUS platform the smallest
and most interoperable platform in the world- for DVB-TV,
DVB-C, DVB-S and DVB-H made a good impression amongst all
visitors who could also see a real demonstration of DVB-H
mobile TV transmissions from its stand.
The company was selected by the IBC organisation
to provide and operate a live mobile TV platform with 7 TV
channels, using ESG solutions through CBMS and OMA BCAST and
encryption systems through OMA BCAST smart card profile and
OMA BCAST DRM. The platform showed interoperability among
the different DVB devices on display at IBC proving that the
DVB-H technology is ready for commercial launch worldwide
as long as the legal and political scenes are cleared. That
is currently the case of the Russian Federation, one of the
first countries to offer commercial DVB-H services through
a network provided and operated by SIDSA with 15 TV channels.
Iran is also jumping on the mobile TV bandwagon by launching
a DVB-H trial wit 16 TV channels covering Tehran in a project
also led by SIDSA.
To strengthen its International expansion,
SIDSA has opened two offices in Moscow and Hong Kong to make
a full-frontal assault on the Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific
region.
Conditional Access Systems
SIDSA also hit the news with its KeyFly
Family, a security system for each environment with KeyFly
CDN and KeyFly Broadcasting as the main features. KeyFly CDN
is an encryption system specifically designed for distribution
of terrestrial networks on satellite links. KeyFly Broadcasting
is the safest Conditional Access System, necessary to support
all business models.
DVB-H demodulator chip
At IBC, SIDSA also showed its DVB-H reference
designs based on IC from IP licensees and partners, as well
as SIDSA's DVB-H software stack. Moreover, SIDSA is leading
cutting edge technology and the company is launching the new
IP for DVB-SH, supporting with this co-existent mobile standards.
As for IPTV, SIDSA featured its IP
platform that allows to distribute the triple play, including
Video on demand services.
