Specialty Data Systems (SDS) Inc., a leading
North American provider of broadcast management software based
in Toronto, has announced that broadcaster CHIN Radio International
of Toronto has chosen the SDS unified technology solution
for its three radio stations in Ontario.
The integrated solution, called SDS Symphony,
has been installed at radio stations AM1540 and FM100.7 in
Toronto, and FM97.9 in Ottawa-Gatineau. The technology
used by radio stations, television stations, and cable networks
across Canada and in the U.S. combines data from sales,
traffic, programming, operations and accounting, providing
CHIN Radio with instantaneous communication between all three
stations.

CHIN Radio which provides multilingual
programming in more than 30 languages was searching
for a cost-efficient and adaptable framework for its operations,
and found what it needed in the SDS Symphony Traffic, Sales
and A/R system, said Theresa Lombardi, Vice President and
General Manager of CHIN Radio International.
The challenges our traffic and copy
departments must meet on a daily basis needed to be addressed
with a more flexible broadcast management software solution
that is able to integrate with our audio system and give our
sales department better inventory and booking technology,
Lombardi said. SDS has been able to adjust their system
to meet our preferences. Its not a one-size fits
all attitude at SDS. They are delivering on their promises
and we are very pleased to be part of the SDS Symphony group
of broadcasters.
SDS Symphony a multilingual system
provides broadcasters with a common database to integrate
sales, traffic, programming, finance and operations, enabling
faster implementation and eliminating the need for data reentry
and cross-verification.
Customized for both radio and television broadcasters, the
system allows a two-way flow of data that can be shared across
departments without the need to re-key information or use
paper. With SDS, users access information on-line in real-time,
filtered and formatted to meet their particular needs, whether
theyre programming airtime, booking orders, scheduling
promos, or producing sales and commission reports.
The technology gives broadcasters
better clarity and control of their information, said
Dave Cole, President of SDS, emphasizing that the technology
enables broadcasters to operate more efficiently and cost-effectively,
and reduce redundancies. SDS Symphony also provides
the automated tools needed for broadcasters to easily adapt
to changes in the marketplace as well as to their own future
requirements.
