Sundance Digital,
Inc., the leading provider of broadcast automation solutions,
today announced that ABC affiliate WMTW-TV in Portland, ME
has upgraded to a Sundance Digital® FastBreak® NXT
Automation system to manage a second channel of programming
and maximize its on-air efficiency.
The system
upgrade also allows WMTW to integrate SQL database management,
along with frame-accurate control of two Leitch VR440 servers,
tape transports, switchers, routers and other peripherals
- enabling the station to leverage its infrastructure investments.
WMTW-TV is owned by Hearst-Argyle Television, Inc.
Bill Greep, WMTWs Director of Engineering
said, FastBreak has enabled us to upgrade our outmoded
database architecture and automate more than one channel.
Were now controlling Channel 8 and our direct-to-cable
Channel 9. It is also providing us with the flexibility to
customize the automation of events, commercials and programming
beyond our former capabilities.
The FastBreak NXT Automation system is designed
to manage information, control content, and provide a complete
television master control solution. The system is operator-friendly,
incorporates a distributed, fault-tolerant architecture and
an integrated SQL database.
